I begin the Final Trial of the Sword late at night and I’m slightly delirious. I do not like the Bone Zone™.
I continue on! with the Trials of the Sword through the new areas of bottomless pits + updrafts, dark, and robot hell. The dark levels particularly freak me out and I apparently had a near-on panic attack while fighting the Hinox.
Having saved directly in front of the Deku Tree, the game traps me in both of the cutscenes for the Trial of the Sword DLC.
In this episode, I do the Beginner level of the Trials, fail once, and make a Moblin dance (re: set it on fire and play jaunty music while it flails around) during the second.
While on a globe-trotting, shrine-finding adventure, I encounter the Shrine of Wisdom and its possessed guardian, the dragon Naydra. After, I drop by the Kara Kara Bazaar to grab a memory I missed before heading back to reclaim the Master Sword.
After finishing chatting with the Deku Tree, I turn to and complete the Korok Trials for some quick orbs, though I do have to do one twice because a random wolf attacks the Korok part way through. Afterwards, I go to the top of a mountain and find a giant sword.
After attempting to unknowingly enter the Lost Woods from Makar Island, that strange island with just a single tree at the center and nothing but bones besides, I finish revealing the map before entering the Woods properly.
I take a detour to Lomei Labyrinth Island to try and find the Travel Medallion because my efforts to relight the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab’s furnace was stymied by the fact that it’s ALWAYS RAINING.
I briefly drop by the Tower nearest the volcano to get it active before heading towards the coast and up to meet Doctoooor Robbie!
… And I get startled by a massive shadow cast by one of the dragons drifting aimlessly across the moon above.
In this episode, I become a WALKING BOMB by wandering about in the electricity-proof armor during a thunderstorm. And, after attempting to beat a flying Guardian to death with a box, I clear out a number of shrines.
The Yiga finally send some of their big guns to mess with me, robbing Paya of the Sheikah heirloom and using a defector from their ranks as a spy. Afterwards, I begin to make my way north towards the volcano.
