Gigantamax Raichu/Gorochu
In Pokémon Sword and Shield, there’s a new feature called Dynamax/Gigantamax, wherein a Pokémon changes form and gets real big. So, I decided to design a Gigantamax form for my favorite Pokémon, Raichu.
It’s based partly off of Raichu’s scrapped evolution, Gorochu, and partly off the Japanese thunder god, Raijin. The tail is influenced by Pikachu’s Gigantamax form.
Flailing Clobbopus
I drew one of the new Pokémon, Clobbopus, with pencil and pen. It could be better, but I’m only going to revise a sketch in traditional media so many times before moving on with my life.
Old Man Raichu
I drew a shiny Alolan Raichu with her father, an aging standard Raichu who uses his tail like a cane. Like always with traditional media stuff, I’ve gotta clean this up at some point.
Yamper Pride
I drew the new corgi Pokémon, Yamper, because it is a precious bean. And then I gave it some flags just for kicks: the gay pride flag and the asexual flag.
Raitwo (Revised)
I touched up the picture of my Raichus, both vanilla and chocolate. They’re just… so friend-shaped and would probably be great anxiety buddies.
Raitwo
I drew my favorite Pokémon, Raichu, in both vanilla and chocolate flavors. This was done with colored pencils and pen. I’m going to go over this again in Krita to refine the lines, poses, and colors.
Christmas Cards 2017
Merr Cristo, er’ybody!
Here’s the cards I drew for Christmas. There’s Lucifer from the webcomic, Paranatural, which is absolutely amazing; there’s my character, Bravo, dressed like my trainer in Pokémon Ultra Moon; here’s an aggressive pine tree with a present; and a Raichu, the best Pokémon.
Doodling – Fakemon Design Work
There is a bit of flashing in here from how often I move around the canvas, so watch out for that.
I like bees so I doodled a bee Pokémon whose evolutions are based on its nature. I didn’t feel like designing a different evolution for each and every nature, so I packaged similar natures under the same evolution.
And I wasn’t too keen on that last one I threw together and I haven’t designed the Queen evolutions yet, which evolve from females holding the King’s Rock or, like, Royal Jelly or something.
Sketch Dump: June 2017 – P1
I draw cards for birthdays and holidays because I’m cheap, but I drop hundreds of dollars on digital garbage for mobile games because I’m dumb.
I’ve been drawing that old Super Mario enemy, the Battle Beetle, and other assorted video game characters for my grandparents a lot and round owls for my dad. It used to just be an assorted Judgement Owl™, an owl with Judging Eyebrows™, but now it’s Rowlet.
Doodling – 5/11/2017
Still trying to get back into a rhythm. This is finishing lining and coloring the Alolan Raichu pictures.
