Kabuki Kitsune – Revisit

A digital remastering of two traditional drawings featuring my original character, Murakami Momoko, a kitsune samurai, performing a kabuki pose. She is holding her peach blossom-themed spear vertically next to her and is wearing samurai armor with a blue top and a red bottom. She has a fox head and legs, furry hands, and three long tails curling behind her. She is standing on one leg with one hand outstretched. Across from her is a landscape scene with a stylized sakura tree and a rock. Grassy ground beneath both the landscape and Momoko is connected with a thin, looping strip of color. I revisited this piece to render shading on it.

If this tickles your fancy, I have put her up on Redbubble here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/sada-tainment/works/103187263-kabuki-kitsune-by-the-sakura

West Marches: Bravo

bravo (dnd + voyager).png

I drew Bravo again. I’ve started a West Marches Dungeons and Dragons game and I put her together as a Shadowcat Warlock. The boots could use more work, I think, and my perpetual problem with role-playing her is that I’m am neither: a) black, b) a woman, nor c) British.

Cera and Voyager

While I was trolling my labyrinthine mess of a computer for files to delete, I found some old pictures of my past cats. One was a picture of Cera from before age made her all skin and bones, when she looked like a little matryoshka doll. She was just filled with a generalized malice towards all things instead of more dolls.

So I made a new cat character: a matryoshka doll based on a real one that I have (complete with crack) that’s filled with a grumpy smoke cat.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Cast

I finished this finally after starting it a year ago. It’s taken this long because I stopped working on Zeke and Pandoria for months.

Regardless, I drew all the main characters of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. There’s a number of things that I could have done better… but nah.

Holiday Dear Fae

I decided to clean up and recolor the drawing of Fire Emblem Heroes’ Holiday Dear Fae that I did, because Fae is precious.

(I don’t know where I’m going)

(How does Redbubble work?)

(Would I get in trouble selling this?)

(Would this even sell?)

Flats: Bumbleby

I decided to finish (for a certain definition of “finish”)  this because it not being finished was bothering me. Now I wash my hands of this, as I’m unlikely to return to this show after the whole “Stalking and assorted crime is super cool if you’re an average-looking white guy” thing.

Merr Cristo, er’ybody!

Here’s the cards I drew for Christmas. There’s Lucifer from the webcomic, Paranatural, which is absolutely amazing; there’s my character, Bravo, dressed like my trainer in Pokémon Ultra Moon; here’s an aggressive pine tree with a present; and a Raichu, the best Pokémon.

Celebration Card: September 2017

So here’s another card I drew: a Birthday-wishing Lucina. The pose and face are terrible and I hate it like like everything else I do.

(She’s so very blue…)

Doodling – 8/17/2017 to 8/20/2017

Doodling a representation of Samuel Vimes from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series.

Art – Samuel Vimes

So I set up a Roll20 account because all I do all day is sit in my parent’s basement and stare blankly into the Internet, never interacting with anybody because I’m depressed.

Regardless of the deep self-deprecation, I’ve got into a game of Curse of Strahd and wound up rolling up a rogue for the team. But I didn’t want to just be a stealthy, stealie boy so I based my character’s concept off of Samuel Vimes from Discworld… and then, lacking any real identity for him, I gave my character Sam’s name and character, too, so now I’m just roleplaying as Sam Vimes, which I’m not super comfortable with.

I drew a caricature of the Sam Vimes from the cover of Snuff, to get an idea of what the character was going to look like, and then one of my compatriots found a similar character in the same art style as everyone else’s characters.

Sam Vimes is a genius character. I wish I was competent enough to come up with something half as good as Terry Pratchett’s Discworld.
